History of the DUCATO, looked at by
The Fiat Ducato is a type of van. The first Ducato was issued in 1981 and 2.4 million examples have been produced since. The Ducato is the result of a joint venture between the Italian company Fiat and PSA Peugeot Citroen from France. That joint venture is also the reason for Citroen en Peugeot having similar vehicles in their offer, like the Citroen Jumper and the Peugeot Boxer for example. Apart for vans from other makes, the Ducato base is also used for most campervans in Europe.
The first Fiat Ducatos were produced in Atessa, Italy at the Sevel Val di Sangro plant.
